Finished! Chemo round one.

End of round one; I am still swingin'.
The two weeks of taking Xeloda are over, and I am so glad. I am looking forward to taking a week off from pills 2x a day and the side effects that were not supposed to bother me.  At the end of this week I will visit with my onc. and then I will get back on the chemo.
About the side effects:  After a couple days on the chemo I get the most terrible chest and back pain (it isn't a heart attack) and it knocks the wind out of me.  If I try to do something quickly, like walk, or if I am outside in the heat it is intensified so that all I want to do is get into the house, get out of any clothing that is tight and lay down with the fan on and a cool cloth on my head.  Once I figured out what was triggering the issue I was able to avoid them.
It is incredible how quickly these side effects just go away when stopping the medication.  Honestly, it makes it hard to think about taking it again in a week.  I want to feel better and better as proof that I am getting better.   I am going to have to resolve this ideal against reality.
But, here's to the week ahead!  Enjoying feeling healthy.
